The UK’s leading roofing, cladding and facade specialist contractor Lakesmere Group has added further strength to its Hong Kong office following a strategic restructure of its international division.

Previously based in Dubai, Tim Moxey, Lakesmere’s regional business development manager has joined the specialist’s Hong Kong team to help facilitate the further growth and expansion of the company’s presence in the Asia region.  Bringing with him a wealth of experience working in the international construction market, Tim will help to build on Lakesmere’s existing client base and order book by identifying opportunities for the company to showcase its technical expertise, with a particular focus on infrastructure, transport and stadia sectors.

Tim will be? working closely with Asia general manager Chris Riddler. With over 30 years construction experience, 18 of which have been spent working in Hong Kong, Chris joined Lakesmere in 2016 and since then has played a key role in strengthening the specialist’s position across the region.

Chris and his team, also including senior project manager Mike Moloney, are currently working with main contractors Leighton Asia and Chun Wu on the complex delivery of the Passenger Clearence Building (PCB), a major transport infrastructure project situated alongside Hong Kong airport. The project includes the off-site manufacture and assembly of the 16m long roof cassettes. To successfully deliver this innovative approach, Lakesmere established a dedicated off-site manufacturing facility in China.

Lakesmere’s Hong Kong office was opened in 2015 and although still in its infancy, the company’s expansion into the Asia construction market is underpinned by over 25 years’ experience as the largest specialist contractor in UK and is supported by a successful track record of working in the international market. After establishing a dedicated presence in the Middle East in 2009, Lakesmere has gone on to be involved in some of the region’s most high-profile projects including the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2015, Lakesmere was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade - the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

As one of the largest and most financially successful specialist contractors in the UK, Lakesmere’s impressive portfolio includes some of the country’s most impressive and iconic buildings including Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2, The Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the London Aquatic Centre and numerous contacts as part of the Crossrail transport infrastructure projects, including the new Canary Wharf station.  In the period ending January 2016, Lakesmere reported an increase in Group turnover to £118.5m and an increase in pre-tax profits to £3.5m.
