The world's largest, single standing seam roofing project.

Lakesmere International has worked with the Saudi Binladin Group on the engineering, procurement and construction of the seam roof, comprised of over 350,000sqm of copper shine Kalzip aluminium. The striking new terminal building for Jeddah airport is the world's largest roofing project to date, not to mention the largest Kalzip project ever undertaken.

Lakesmere was responsible for the roof design and installation for the airport’s new terminal building, railway station, air traffic control centre and the main fire and rescue facility, requiring a combination of straight, tapered and curved roofs with high acoustic and thermal performance specifications. Due to the size and scale of the operation, Lakesmere invested in a mobile manufacturing facility within the site compound, based around containerised machinery, which enabled the on-site production of various roofing accessories in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
