The high-profile Altitude project in Aldgate, London for Barratt Homes is a typical example of McMullen’s proficiency in off-site manufacturing. Due to the land-locked central London location of the site, the client needed a solution that minimised the amount of material on site and the amount of waste going off site. Off-site manufacturing of the unitised panels allowed McMullen to monitor quality in a controlled environment to a high product specification, ensuring product arrived at site defect-free. Through involvement at an early stage in the contract any potential difficulties were addressed at pre-production stage. This meant that once on site the client’s objective of a high floor cycle period was achieved, allowing an early start of the internal fit out works
